How do I know if my Watermark sensors are plugged in?

Think your Watermark sensor wires are disconnected? Here's how to check.
A screw terminal block secures all sensor wires to the circuit board (see picture below).

Step 1: Make sure the sensors are plugged into the screw terminal correctly.

If you have 2 Watermark sensors & 1 temperature sensor on your probe, the wires must be configured as follows:
  1. Top / shallowest soil moisture sensor wires will plug into position 1.
  2. Bottom / deep soil moisture sensor wires will plug into position 2.
  3. Temperature sensor wires will plug into position 3.
If you have 3 Watermark sensors & 1 temperature sensor on your probe, the wires must be configured as follows:
  1. Top / shallowest soil moisture sensor wires will plug into position 1.
  2. Middle soil moisture sensor wires will plug into position 2.
  3. Bottom / deep soil moisture sensor wires will plug into position 3.
  4. Temperature sensor wires will plug into position 4
Note: there is a gap between position 3 and position 4.

If you have 4 Watermark sensors on your probe, the wires must be configured as follows:
  1. Top / shallowest soil moisture sensor wires will plug into position 1.
  2. Second soil moisture sensor wires will plug into position 2.
  3. Third soil moisture sensor wires will plug into position 3.
  4. Bottom / deepest sensor wires will plug into position 4
Note: there is a gap between position 3 and position 4.

Step 2: Gently tug on wires to ensure they're connected.

To check if your sensors are plugged in, gently tug at the wires connected to the screw terminal in the sensor electronics box. If they are secure within the screw terminal as you tug on them, your sensors are plugged in.

If the wires disconnect from the screw terminal, simply insert the wire back into the screw terminal. You will feel a small click when it is secured.
